Newer Topographics: Monochrome
These images of mine are an homage to a 1975 photography exhibition called, “New Topographics: Photographs of a Man-Altered Landscape”. That exhibition has had a genre-bending effect on landscape photography – influencing generations of artists. I am one of them. In this ongoing series, “Newer Topographics”, a canvas is created, which emphasizes the strong sense of isolation humankind feels due to the juxtaposition of natural landscape with solitary manmade constructs.
